Question: how far does the micro SD stick out the side?

Answer: It goes about halfway in/sticks halfway out. You have to insert it upside down, I was confused about that at first and thought it wasn’t compatible. But it works and it’s def handy to have if you tend to keep files on cards like I do!

Question: Is backward compatible with USB 2.0 also?

Answer: Yes, this USB 3.0 memory card reader is backward compatible with USB 2.0.

Question: Would this work for a Chromebook 3?

Answer: Yes, It will work with any USB port.

"I got these USB card readers to help me transfer photos from my different devices/cameras to my laptop for backup storage and printing. I always found it super inconvenient to plug my cell phone into my laptop to transfer photos, keeping my phone tied up for too long. Now I can remove my SD card and plug it straight into the USB card reader to transfer everything and still have my phone free for use. Also, the Micro SD slot does not click and lock into place. Also a rare feature but one I prefer for peace of mind because it keeps the card secure and physically farther into the device, limiting possible damage to the card if the device is dropped or something is dropped on it. I asked about this before buying and some customers told me it did lock in, so I'm just setting the record straight that it does not, if anyone else is looking for this feature"

"I got this because I thought it would be a great & easy way to read photo files.
This helps to transfer files from a PC to a micro SD card or from an SD card which you can put in a USB 3.0 card reader.
Blue light comes on so you know it is working.
It has a keyring so you can keep on keyring & not be looking around in your handbag wondering where it is.
This is 1st time using but was recommended to me by a friend who is in IT to use & when I posted the listing liked it.
He said it was a great price & that I should try it. I did & worked well for me."
