The USB 3.0 10 Ports HUB with switches and lights allows multiple USB devices to be used simultaneously. Data transfer rates at a rate up to 5Gb / s (10 times faster than USB 2.0), you can enjoy fast data transfer. Each 3 USB port has an independent on / off switch. You can turn off other ports if you are not using them to save power and energy. The LED light helps to detect if the ports turn on.

Question: How long is the power cord and how long USB cord?

Answer: The power cord is 37.4 inches, USB cord is 37.7 inches.

Question: Does this hub have 10 or 9 ports?

Answer: This hub has 10 ports 3 Sets of 3 that are switchable and one on the end that is not switchable.

Question: Can this be used only when connected to a laptop docking station? I have limited outlet space and need it for communication with my laptop more than charging.

Answer: If you're referring to if it can still communicate with your Laptop/computer without being plugged into an outlet... Then yes, it doesn't need to be plugged into an outlet to use for communication, the Laptop/computer will be its source of power. But to operate it for any reason it needs to be plugged into one or the other. If the power source is the laptop/computer instead of an outlet- it will still charge an item that charges through a USB connection. If you want to charge an item with the laptop/computer off, it needs to be plugged into an outlet.

"I love it! It came neatly packaged as shown in the first picture. There are technically three sections --- S/W1, S/W2, S/W3, and one lone USB port on the side. I use a laptop and usually only have one USB port available after plugging in a cooler fan and mouse.
