Customer Feedback.

"As an IT professional with a degree in electronic engineering, I've found that I really enjoy playing around with the Raspberry Pi (RPi) devices - so much so that I've ended up with 6 of them! I've got 3 RPi 3b+ units and 3 RPi Zero W units - friends and colleagues have just given me some when they've seen some of the projects I've used them for. I gave my RPi 3b away to someone, and they replaced it for me with one of the 3b+ units.

Since the GPIO pinout for all the units I have is the same, I picked up 2 of these kits (I have a tendency to work on more than 1 project at a time). The cable and T board are really handy for getting the GPIO header to a breadboard for setting up and testing circuits before committing them to a more permanent board. The breadboard seems to be good quality so far, and let's face it: you can never have too many breadboards if you're a tinkerer, like I am.

As an electronics engineer, I have lots of parts kicking around, but I was really low on resisters, and most of my jumper wires have ended up lost, shortened to unusability from the ends breaking off, or inside other, more permanent homes. That's why I chose to get this kit - there are plenty of common-sized resisters for use in digital circuits and the jumpers are perfect for breadboard use - they are more stable than regular solid-core wire and fit breadboard holes perfectly.

If you don't need a lot of other parts to experiment with, this is a great buy!"

"Really nice GPIO breakout for the 40pin GPIO Raspberry PIs (all recent models). The breadboard is of good quality and a nice size for quick prototyping. I used it to connect an OLED screen over SPI, solid state relays, and also a network of external Arduino Mini's over SPI. The jumper wire is the same basic wire you get in nearly every other kit. Though, the ribbon cable is a nice color-coded touch to ensure that all wires are lined up properly. I read that some people complained about the ribbon cable being keyed incorrectly, but mine is fine. The ribbon cable keys into the break-out board so that it only plugs in one way and the other end of the cable keys so the ribbon cable is towards the outside of the PI, allowing the top of most PI cases to still close. Everything in my kit is perfect and good quality."

"The product works as expected. The only reason I did not give it a 5-star rating is the lack of instructions on how to hook the cable in the RPi. There is only one possible way for hooking up the cable in the T-Cobbler but no indications on how to hook it up on the RPi. In fact, it happens that you will always get 5V in the top right pin even if you hook the cable incorrectly. This increases the confusion. I even damaged a temp sensor since I assumed that it was correctly hooked up (based on some info out on the internet). After I burnt my temp sensor, I use the multimeter to understand what was going on. That is when I noticed that the 3.3V pin was giving 1.7V. I was about to return this product assuming that it was faulty but after more experimentation, I realized that I had to it incorrectly hooked up. I flipped it the other way around and then each pin was working as the label at the top said.

Lack of documentation or instructions cost me a burnt temp sensor and almost an unnecessary product return."
